GALENA, Mo. — The Master Gardeners of the Ozarks Annual Garden Tour runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday, July 13 and Saturday, July 14 in northern Stone County. This is a self-driving tour featuring gardens and it may be done in only one day or broken up over two.
This year’s self-guided tour has the theme of “Home Grown in the Ozarks” and features 8 different gardens, each with its own personality. There will be vegetable gardens as well as gardens that feature the owner’s own unique interest or hobby, like raising free range chickens, ponds, flowers and raising honey bees.
The tour is presented by the “Master Gardeners of the Ozarks” in conjunction with the Stone County University of Missouri Extension Center. Several restaurants along the tour are offering 10-15 percent discounts to people showing them their tour tickets for those two days.
Proceeds Benefit “College of the Ozarks” Horticulture Scholarship Fund.
Tickets for the tour cost $10. For more information, or to sign up, go online to www.mgozarks.com or call the Stone County Extension Center at (417) 357-6812.
