I saw today where another pro athelete signed a 100 million dollar contract to play basketball. Man, have we got our priorities messed up. If you went out and started a fundraising effort to raise 100 million dollars to help people in need, you would be laughed off the stage. I work in fundraising for Springfield Victory Mission, and of course for Sammy’s Window. It is tough in this economy to bring people on board your ministry to donate funds. If I’d have only been better at basketball! Think of what we could do with $100,000,000.
Likely, by the end of this week, Sammy’s Window will have spent $730 alone on beds for foster kids in July. That’s a lot of money for this ministry. One free throws worth for that basketball player. I am thanklful for every penny we receive and every second donated. Every clothing item, hygeine product, shoe, and expecially every prayer. They all change lives! They all put the smiles back on little faces that we see in our store. Thank you so much. As for me, I’m going to go air up my basketball and work on the jump shot! Mark
Note from George: Would you or your group be in a position to assist Sammy’s Window? Sammy’s Window is a not-for-profit organization, whose special purpose is to help foster children enter the foster system with some sense of dignity, and assist foster parents with the transition. Mark, the founder and director, is also a member of Friends of the Garden and a FOG volunteer.
Sammy’s Window does have a group Facebook page, click here> http://www.facebook.com/friendsofthegarden#!/groups/53740542338/
