Join us at the Botanical Center for the:
3rd Annual Slow Food SWMO Meet the Farmer’s Forum
We know that you would like to eat with the seasons and source local options but aren’t always sure where to find them, what is available, or how to seek them out.
You’ll hear from several area farmers, suppliers and local businesses in our area that do their part in bringing you good, clean, fair food everyday.
This is a rare opportunity for you to hear the behind the scenes stories about what they grow, how they grow it and why they do what they do. You can become an informed consumer about local options and sources.
Learn why each choice makes a difference for all of us. Ask questions and get answers as you support our local farmers. Speakers begin at 6 p.m.!
Some of the Speakers Include:
Rob Corliss, ATE
Mark Frank, Echigo Farms
Curtis Millsap, Millsap Farms
Alan Scarrow, Ozarks Natural Beef
Nathan & Amy Green, Whispering Oaks Winery
When: Monday, March 5th, 2012 | 6:00 p.m.
Where: The Main Meeting Room at The Botanical Center
2400 S Scenic Ave, Springfield, MO.
What is slow food?
Slow Food is an idea, a way of living and a way of eating. It is part of a global, grassroots movement with thousands of members in over 150 countries, which links the pleasure of food with a commitment to community and the environment.
Slow Food members believe that food and farming should be sources of health and well being for everyone. Through international and national advocacy, local projects and bringing people together through the common language of food, Slow Food members and supporters are making it easier to access real food that is good for us, good for those who produce it and good for the planet.
