Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader, President’s Day Challenge
Information provided by the Gray/Campbell Farmstead
Everyone is invited to attend the Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader, President’s Day Challenge, February 20, 1-3pm at the Botanical Center, 2400 S. Scenic, Springfield.
This is our 2nd year to have this activity to promote education plus the moving and restoration of the one-room Liberty School that still stands north of Springfield by Fellows Lake. The goal is to raise awareness and funds to move the school to Nathanael Greene/Close Memorial Park to be a part of the Gray/Campbell Farmstead that’s already there. The Farmstead features educating the public and specifically 5th graders on the life and times of our forefathers in the 1800′s when the original Gray/Campbell house was built.
If you are a 5th grader (or know one) and would like to participate, inquire with your teacher about applying or send an email to norma_l_tolbert@yahoo.com. We will also need 3-5 5th graders to assist 3 VIP’s to answer questions about U. S. Presidents. Already, we have Paul Adler of KY3 enlisted to be a VIP.
We need sponsors to help support this effort and they will be recognized at any level. In particular: Bronze: $100.00; Silver: $250.00; Platinum: $500.00; Gold: $1000.00. We will include commercials for any sponsor on screen and at breaks, etc.
Questions, to participate, to assist, and/or to contribute, please contact Norma Tolbert norma_l_tolbert@yahoo.com phone 417.833.2352 or Michelle Atkinson atkinsonplace@sbcglobal.net phone 417.818.2212. More information on registration, click here> http://www.graycampbellfarmstead.org/id17.html.
