James Hall III is the artist who produced four of the sculptures in Close Memorial Park.
Major Close kneeling in the White Garden near the Hosta Garden entrance, Anne Drummond reading on the bench by Lake Drummond, the bronze Butterfly Girl watching over the Butterfly Garden and the bust of Major and Marthe Close that is part of the Botanical Center atrium donor display. His website says, “James Hall, sculptor, is the owner of JH Creative LLC and is a graduate from Missouri State University with a BFA in three-dimensional design. He has worked in the visual merchandising industry in addition to designing art pieces for public and private collections. James spent 10 years fabricating models for natural history and environmental science exhibits all over the world. His diorama model work can be seen in Canada, Egypt, the UK, Germany, and the US. Hall lives and works in Springfield, MO.”
